Not getting Political But……

I never liked politics, I always thought politics were for politicians and not for martial artists, but as I grow older and less tolerant of those around me who profess to be this and that without having put in the time, I must admit I start to get just a little brassed off (that means upset).

I take my Wing Chun very seriously and have been teaching for many years in my area
Bournemouth/Poole (England). I have seen them come and I’ve seen them go yet still here we are growing stronger and wiser by each passing day.

My sympathy goes to the students of such self accreadited teachers as they really don’t know any better.
They are under the impression that they are learning Wing Chun, they are not, and I get upset when they will eventually leave that school thinking Wing Chun is a poor martial art, or even worse believe they are qualified when they are not.

What ever your teacher tells you, you will not be taken seriously by the rest of the wing chum world if you have not completed the syllabus i.e. Sil Lim Tao, Chum Kiu and Biu Tze. You should also be taught Bart Cham Do, Lun Dik Boon Kwun and Muk Yan Chong.

If your teaches tells you that these are not required then chances are he/she does not know these forms and is not qualified to be called Sifu.

To achieve the heights of Black sash, a student has to know the complete system backwards and not 1/3 of a contrived system as some of my students have found on a local schools web site.

If your teacher tells you anything different then they are only after your money.
